How to add Sticky Notes Indicator on Ubuntu

If you want a real sticky notes on ubuntu, you can install the sticky notes indicator panel, this sticky notes will stay on your desktop even after restart or shutdown, in this tutorial i will show you how to install sticky notes indicator on ubuntu.

This stick notes indicator is different from other sticky notes that i recently review, this one will stay on your desktop forever until you delete it yourself, after restarting and shutdown the computer, the sticky notes stays where they are.

At least that's what happened on my ubuntu 14.04 desktop, if you want a real life sticky note, you can't go wrong with this sticky notes indicator. On ubuntu 14.04 this sticky notes indicator does not available on ubuntu repository, so i have to install from PPA repo.

How to install stick notes indicator on ubuntu (tested on 14.04)
  1. open command line
  2. add the PPA repo for sticky notes indicator
  3. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:umang/indicator-stickynotes
  4. run the update command
  5. sudo apt-get update
  6. install the sticky notes indicator
  7. sudo apt-get install indicator-stickynotes
  8. restart the computer

After installing you still need to restart your computer, if not you will not see the sticky notes indicator on the top right corner of your screen, not until the computer is reboot.

The default color of the sticky notes is yellow, but you can change it if you want, go to setting to change the color. You can also create new notes, delete notes, and lock notes. This sticky notes indicator is the best sticky note i ever had so far, it's really like the stick note on windows.
