Did you know that you can add program dock on your ubuntu desktop, just like on mac OS, there is a program called 'cairo dock' on ubuntu which looks similar like desktop dock on mac OS.
To install cairo dock on ubuntu, simply open terminal/console (press CTRL + ALT + T) and then enter this command:
sudo apt-get install cairo-dock
Once installed, you need to open cairo, so that the dock is appear, the cairo dock will appear on the bottom of your screen just like a program dock should be.
You can customize program that will shown on the dock, it's totally customizable, normally you need to open cairo every time you boot your computer, but you can also make cairo automatically load at start up.
If you have unity tweak tool installed, you can also make the unity panel auto hide, this will makes your desktop much cleaner and nicer.
