Ubuntu 15.10 wily werewolf already comes with email client software which is mozilla thunderbird, you can use this as your main email client. In this article i will show you little bit how to setup email (gmail) on mozilla thunderbird.
Since thunderbird is already there when we install ubuntu, so we don't need to install it, we can just use it right away. To open thunderbird, simply search on ubuntu dash, the keyword is 'thunderbird'.
Click on thunderbird icon to open the program, if you open for the first time, you will see offering to create a paid email from gandi.net, just ignore it, click on 'Skip this and use my existing email'.
Next, you need to enter your current/existing email, in this case i'm going to enter my gmail account, but you can use other email if you want.
Enter your name, email address, and your password, then click 'Continue'. Next you can choose between IMAP or POP3 protocol, i suggest choose IMAP.
Clik 'Done', when you are finish, there will be a popup to login to gmail (if you are using gmail), login and allow thunderbird to integrate with your gmail account.
Congratulation you have just setup your first email on thunderbird, check your inbox, you might have new email.
